Cold weather makes for good grooming!
A little chilly up there this morning, but everything groomed out nicely.

Brief Report

The Service Road, Klaus Trail and lower trails down to the Aspen Loop were groomed with the Ginzu Groomer attachments.  Several passes were made on each trail and with the exception of the Service Road, classic tracks were set throughout.

Additional Information

Today’s groomers were Jim Dryden and Scott Dietrich.  We arrived at the Ellis Lot at 8:00 AM.  The temperature when we arrived was 4 degrees, but there was no wind and the sun was shining, so it did not feel as cold as it was.  When we left at 12:30 PM, the temp has risen to 14 degrees and it was actually quite pleasant as the sun continued to shine and there was still no significant wind.  As mentioned above, we were able to make multiple passes with the Ginzus on all the trails from the Service Road to the Aspen Loop.  The classic tracks that we set on Klaus and the XC Loop (official USFS name of the lower trail system) actually set rather nicely.  Please use caution while skiing as there are still rocks and stumps poking through the snow here and there throughout the trail system.  A 1 minute video of us grooming the Service Road, which focuses on before and after conditions, may be found via this link.
