Entire trail system rolled and compacted; classic tracks not set.

Brief Report

We groomed the entire trail system including the Service Road, Klaus Trail and all the Lower Trails down to the 10K meadow using the roller/compactors.  Classic tracks were not set.  Please be advised that conditions are variable with ~ 85% of the trail system having good cover while the other ~ 15% has thin to burned out snow with protruding rocks here and there.

Next Grooming Planned For

This Sunday morning when we will be taking the Ginzus on the Service Road, Klaus Trail, and Lower Trails down to the Aspen Loop.  Note that we will not be grooming the lower trails from the Aspen Loop to the 10K meadow until we get additional snow.

Today’s groomers were Lindsey Gilbert and Scott.  We met at the container at 8:15 AM and got going around 8:45 AM.  Temps were in the mid 20’s when we arrived, transitioning to the upper 30’s with lots of sunshine  when we departed around 11:45 AM.  Most of the trail system (~85%) is in pretty good shape but please note that cover is very thin in certain areas –  most notably the hilly areas of the Service Road, the southern end of Klaus, the S turn/hill on Klaus close to the Service Road, midway on the Bunny Hill, the burn out area above the Aspen Loop, the bottom of the hill leading to the Aspen Loop, the east edge of the lower 10K meadow, and the southwest corner of the lower 10K meadow.  Rocks may protrude in these and other areas of the trail system, so please use caution while skiing.

We were also able to erect a couple of our new official USFS trail signs during our outing today.
