Fresh tracks and corduroy to enjoy!

Brief Report

The Klaus trail and the XC Loop trail down to the Aspen Loop were groomed with the Ginzus.

Additional Info

Today’s groomers were Jeff and Dave.  The Klaus trail, Service Road and lower trails down to the Aspen Loop were groomed with the Ginzus.  Classic tracks were set on the western edge of the Service Road.

Overall conditions are good, but there are a few burned out sections where you will want to tread carefully, notablly:

  • On the service road you should stay to the uphill side of the turn as you coast down the hill on the south end of the gravel pit area. The top of the big hill has a substantial burned-out area. Some folks are passing through on a small patch of snow, like threading a needle, while others are removing their skis and walking around. At the bottom of the big hill after the turn there are some rocks in the middle of the trail; you should stay to the inside of this turn as well.
  • As you enter the south end of the Klaus trail by the containers you will encounter a large burned-out area where you will have to remove your skis. After this, the trail is in excellent shape except for rocks showing through at the hairpin turn at the midpoint.
  • The trail down to Aspen loop is in good shape, with only one major burn-out to be avoided, just before you reach the Aspen grove.

It was a relatively balmy day up top, with a temperature of 28 degrees, and wind at 4 mph.
