Grooming Report, Jan 5 2019

The ski lifts are open and the road is plowed to the top , so lots of folks enjoying a sunny day and great snow.  The parking lots is not plowed so folks were parking alongside the road , don’t think they were getting tickets though.  Greg and I re groomed the Service road and set classic tacks with the ginzu .  Service road nicely firmed up and great for skating and classic.  We then turned our attention to the lower trails and were able to get all the way down to the lower 10k meadow with the roller.  Snow waist deep and still soft down there but after Greg taking multiple passes first with the ATV and then  with the roller attached, the lower trails are  now packed down a bit.  OK for classic and possibly ok for the intrepid skater who doesn’t mind a somewhat wavy trail.  After some future  grooming sessions the lower trails will be awesome. A hard days work for sure.  The restaurant work will probably result in the Service road getting plowed to dirt in a couple days but should be great for Sunday.

Great to see all the XC skiers out today and again thanks for your support of Sandia Nordic!
