Grooming Report Thurs. Jan.24

Sunny day on the Sandias, bit of wind later in the day, temps staying low and snow in great shape. After our usual 40min warm-up of shoveling out the storage container from the prior days drifts. We set out to groom the entire system, with Scott using the Ginzu on the service road to break up a bit of crust, he set down some very nice classic and skate lanes. We then used the compactor on Klaus, which continues to get better with each successive groom. Still pretty soft and too soft yet use the ginzu to set classic. On the lower trails we found a mix of snow drifts and some blown crusty areas in the exposed meadows. A few rounds of compaction leveled out the drifts and then dragging our metal screen broke up the crusty areas. Once the lower trails set up, we will then be able to get the ginzu down there to set some classic tracks. Will let you know about that and will need a couple extra hands to help out in case we get the Ginzu stuck down there. All in all looking great for the weekend. Enjoy!!
